I work hands-on and full-scale as much as possible, making numerous models and useable prototypes to best understand how a design feels and fits together. For each design, I work closely with craftspeople and manufacturers to find practical and elegant solutions for fabrication.

I look to integrate form, material, structure, and use while also enjoying ephemeral effects. Primary inspiration comes from the tasks of everyday life and observations in my immediate environment.

I continue these explorations in my non-design work. Done with no particular goal, these explorations help to expand my understanding of materials, colour, texture, proportion, structure, and form in pursuit of an intuitive, distinctive, personal language.
